Wounded Minnow Saloon in Dowagiac

I crave a place like this in my own downtown. It’s not a chain, has wonderful character, and has a local atmosphere that makes you glad to be there. Wide selection of Michigan beers and a diverse menu to boot. Combined with prompt, polite service, it makes this place a must-visit.

Good drinks and food. Atmosphere good. Servers friendly. Food delivery Slow to all 6 at table.

Food is ok. Service hit or miss

After arrival We waited 15 mins sitting at a VERY visible table. Many tables open so not real busy. Wait staff were seen & bartender but we got No greeting, no acknowledgment we were there, nothing. We walked out & still no one said anything as we left. Will never go back.

This is a place that 'knows you by name' and has reliably great food and service.

Wonderful food and great wait staff!!! If you've not tried it yet I highly recommend. We will continue to go anytime we are in dowagiac.

A local 'family friendly' gathering place. Great food and libations. Service is friendly and relaxed. Outdoor seating, pool table and banquet room.We had a cousins reunion last Saturday evening. Thank you to Kyle Belew and the entire Wounded Minnow Saloon crew!

Really good food

The food is very good with a nice selection of apps, sandwiches and even steaks! Any drink you can think to order with a friendly staff, excellent owner and nice atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable and quantities are very healthy too. A must stop if in Dowagiac area.

The name attracted me. Good place to hang out, comfortable. The wine was good and the pour was, I thought, generous.

The Minnow is the last tavern in Dowagiac. And the only one to match the character of the town. Great food friendly staff and an awesome Heddon fishing lure collection for fishermen and historians.

I had a burger and fries. It was great. We also shared a sampler of the appetizers. They were also great. Service was great. Order was taken when we had decided what we wanted, meal was just what we ordered, nothing forgotten or made wrong and drinks were refilled very promptly. I would highly recommend this place.

Ordered a double cheeseburger for take out. Realized when I got home it was a single. Ate a hockey puck for dinner tonight...

Prices are quite high for the low quality of products

I enjoyed my time there. They did take a long time to fix our pizza but Adam was great and took it well. We enjoyed his service.

I've always wanted to try a peanut butter and jelly burger! It was really good, and so different from any burger I've had before. 😍 the atmosphere was great as well. I really enjoyed my dinner and drinks here. I hope to be back in the near future!

Great Place, Great Atmosphere, Great service, great food all around. TVs, Pool, Darts, music, larger dining area, outside patio is seasonal....It was my first time here and was impressed for a tavern bar establishment. Also, there was a large group gathering which was not a detractor from the service. You need to try it for yourself as I consider it and Highly Recommended.

Management don't care if the employees are slow or rude.

Quaint downtown bar, hearty food, pleasant staff, and clean bathrooms. I would recommend stopping in for a drink or staying for dinner and good vibes.

Great experience at the wounded minnow. Came in to have a few drinks and listen to the music. DJ PACMAN is a very good DJ and the staff made us feel right at home. I will be sure to tell my friends. Thanks for the great service!👍

Had tried years ago, decided to try again. Server was nice, she was friendlier after we talked a bit. It was Friday late afternoon and we tried the ayce fish. It was served hot, tasted good. Will be back.

This place has really good food. It might not be the cheapest around for a small town, but it is delicious none the less. They also have the Dowagiac live cam on top of their building since it is the tallest on the street.

Family owned so the chain store mentality is missing.

Food was rough and the staff was worse. Expect more than an hour wait for chicken tenders and get barked at after asking where the food is.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant! 2 hours in this restaurant and I never even received my correct dinner. Ordered shrimp dinner, received salmon. My correct order went to the back of the line. Never did receive my food. Pathetic!

Stopped in with my wife and another couple for dinner on a busy Friday night. We decided to sit out on the patio since the weather was beautiful. The service was excellent. The server was friendly, prompt and very personable. The food was GREAT! We had appetizers including some wings and then burgers. If your looking for a good bar burger this is the place. No frozen patties, fresh toppings, and cooked perfectly. The only room for improvement would be the decor on the patio. The table and chairs were clean and well kept but very basic. No real enhancements like cushions. No umbrellas. The patio, with a little effort, could easy be a go to spot.

Loved the waitress wish they had a little better selection or more to their menu. Ordered shrimp basket not very many shrimp. Menu said big shrimp. Not that impressed. Its more a bar scene.
